Beliefs and Cultures
In Years 9, 10 and 11 students follow the subjects Citizenship, Philosophy and Ethics and History at GCSE.
In Year 9 students begin a short GCSE Citizenship course and take their final exam at the end of Year 10. The course comprises of a theoretical element and a group project. Citizenship is a compulsory subject at Key Stage 4.
In Year 10 students follow a Philosophy and Ethics short course GCSE with a final exam in Year 11. The course focuses on Christianity in relationship to modern issues. Philosophy and Ethics is a compulsory subject at Key Stage 4.
History is an optional subject at Key Stage 4 and stands as part of the academic pathway. The course followed is Schools History Project Medicine Through Time and The American West. There is a local study coursework element.
