Welcome to Mathematics

 Why Mathematics?  Challenge, Beauty, Applications, FUN. We aim to give our students an appreciation of the place of mathematics in the world and of the innate beauty of a subject which provides the foundation stones of our technological society. The scheme of work at Key Stage 3 is designed to ensure coverage of the four attainment targets: 

• Using and applying mathematics
• Numbers and algebra
• Shape, space and measure
• Handling data

 has now been adapted to reflect the new slimmed down national curriculum and includes opportunities for  students to develop their functional skills. 

We have recently taken delivery of a set of laptop computers, enhancing opportunities for students to use ICT when investigating mathematics – Hooray!
