Brixham College is committed to providing a full and efficient education for all students.  Regular attendance at the College is essential to ensure that each individual gains the maximum benefit from the education we offer.  To this end we will do all we can to ensure that all students attend College every day and that any problems that get in the way of full attendance are identified and acted upon as soon as possible.

The Government expects students to attend at least 93.4% of the school year.

 

We expect the following from all students:-

 

  • That they will attend College every day.
  • That they will arrive on time at registration with the necessary equipment to take a full part in all lessons.  Morning registration is at 8.40 and afternoon registration at 1.10.
  • That they will sign in should they be unavoidably late.
  • That they will inform a member of staff of any problem that may prevent them attending College.
  • That they arrive on time for all lessons.

 

We expect the following from parents/carers:-

 

  • To ensure their children attend College every day.
  • To contact the College whenever their child is unable to attend College.  The number of the absence line is 01803 881228. There is also an option to text a message regarding an absence to the number  07907794035
  • To contact the College whenever any problems arise that may have an effect on their child’s attendance.

 

Parents and students can expect the following from the College:-

 

  • Regular, efficient and accurate recording of attendance – lesson by lesson.
  • Early contact with parents when a student fails to attend College without providing good reason.
  • Prompt, caring action on any problem notified to us.
  • The encouragement and rewarding of good attendance.
  • The provision of a quality education for all students.
