Year 7 - 8 - Praise Cards

Students are praised regularly to positively reinforce achievement and good behaviour. The identification of praiseworthy behaviour and achievement is recorded on Praise Cards. Each card has 10 praise points that pupils can earn in any of the following categories: Effort, Attainment, Representing the College, Attendance, Voluntary Work and Other. Cards can be exchanged for numerous prizes or saved as part payment for trips and residentials held throughout the year.

Year 9, 10 and 11

In Years 9, 10 and 11 the praise cards are replaced by “Well Done” stickers which are issued in all faculty areas and are banked automatically in the LRC on a half termly basis.

Once a student has banked 5 praise cards or 25 well done stickers this will trigger the next level of recorded praise, with a Bronze Award postcard being sent home to inform parents/guardians of their progress.
On reaching 10 praise cards/50 well done stickers a Silver Award postcard will be issued.
On reaching 15 praise cards/75 well done stickers a Gold Award postcard will be issued.
Finally;
On reaching 20 praise cards/100 well done stickers a Principals special commendation postcard will be issued and a meeting arranged to meet the Principal.
These points are accumulative over the course of the year.
